Troubleshooting
Something not working as expected? This guide covers the most common issues and how to resolve them.
Account & Sign-Up Issues
"Verification email not received"
If you haven't received your verification email:
- Check your spam or promotions folder
- Add hello@thephotographersblogger.com to your contacts
- Click Resend Verification on the login page
- Make sure you entered the correct email address
"I forgot my password"
- Go to the login page
- Click Forgot Password
- Enter your email address
- Check your email for a reset link
- Click the link and create a new password
"My account was paused"
Accounts are paused after 3 failed payment attempts. To resume:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Update your payment method
- Click Retry Payment
- Your account will be reactivated immediately
Website Connection Issues
WordPress
"Application password not working"
- Make sure you copied the full password, including all spaces
- Generate a new application password in WordPress and try again
- Check that your WordPress site has the REST API enabled (most hosts enable this by default)
"Connection failed"
- Verify your site URL is correct (include
https://) - Confirm you have admin access to your WordPress site
- Some security plugins (Wordfence, Sucuri) may block the connection — temporarily disable them and retry
"Can't find WordPress admin URL"
Your WordPress admin panel is typically at yoursite.com/wp-admin. If that doesn't work, check with your hosting provider.
ShowIt
"Authorization window didn't open"
- Disable your browser's pop-up blocker for our domain
- Try using a different browser
- Click the Connect button again
"Site not connecting after authorization"
- Make sure your ShowIt blog is published, not in draft mode
- Check that your blog page is accessible from your site navigation
- Log out of ShowIt and log back in, then retry
Wix
"Connection keeps failing"
- Verify your Wix site is published and not in draft mode
- Make sure the Blog app is installed on your Wix site
- Try using a private/incognito browser window
"Posts not publishing"
- Check that your Wix blog page is set to show published posts
- Verify the blog is part of your site navigation
- Ensure you haven't exceeded Wix's storage or post limits
Squarespace
"Connection successful but nothing showing"
This is normal — the Squarespace connection is read-only. As long as you see a Connected indicator, everything is working.
"Copied content looks different in Squarespace"
Some formatting may shift during copy-paste. After pasting:
- Use Squarespace's editor to adjust heading levels
- Re-add images that didn't transfer
- Check that links are correct
Content Generation Issues
"No topics generated yet"
If you haven't received topic ideas:
- Make sure you've completed onboarding
- Verify your Content Preferences are saved
- Check that your website connection is active
- New accounts typically receive their first topics within 24 hours
"Posts are not in my voice"
If the tone isn't quite right:
- Review your Content Preferences — especially the tone setting
- Edit individual posts using the editor
- Use the Request Revision feature with specific feedback
The more detail you provide in your content preferences, the better the AI will match your voice. Update your preferences and the next batch of content will reflect the changes.
"Post quality is inconsistent"
Some variation between posts is normal. The AI learns and improves based on your feedback:
- Approve posts that feel right
- Edit posts that need small adjustments
- Request revisions for posts that miss the mark
Over time, the AI adapts to your preferences.
Publishing Issues
"Post didn't publish on schedule"
Several things could cause this:
- Connection issue – Check your website connection status
- Content issue – The post may have failed validation (too many images, unsupported formatting)
- Plan limit – Check that you haven't exceeded your monthly post limit
For any of these, check your notifications for details on the failure.
"Post published but looks wrong on my site"
If formatting is off:
- Check if your theme supports the heading structure used in the post
- Verify featured images are properly sized
- Some themes have custom styling that can affect post appearance
You can edit the post from within your dashboard and republish to fix any issues.
"Auto-publish stopped working"
If auto-publish was working and stopped:
- Check your Settings → Publishing — auto-publish may be paused
- Verify your website connection is still active
- Check if you've hit your monthly post limit
- Look for notifications about publishing failures
Billing Issues
"My card was declined"
If your payment method fails:
- Check that your card hasn't expired
- Verify you have sufficient funds
- Make sure your billing address matches what's on file with your bank
- Try a different payment method
"I was charged twice"
If you see duplicate charges:
- Check your billing history — one may be a pending charge that will drop off
- If both charges processed, contact our support team with the transaction details
- We'll investigate and refund the duplicate within 3–5 business days
"My plan changed but price didn't update"
Plan changes that involve an upgrade take effect immediately and your bill adjusts. Downgrades take effect at the end of your billing cycle. If something seems off, check your billing history or contact support.
