Connecting Wix

Wix is a popular website builder that offers solid blogging capabilities. Here's how to connect your Wix site to The Photographers' Blogger for auto-publishing.

What You'll Need

Before starting, make sure you have:

  1. Your Wix site URL (e.g., yourphotography.wixsite.com or your custom domain)
  2. Owner or admin access to your Wix account
  3. The Wix Blog app installed on your site (it's usually installed by default)

Step 1: Prepare Your Wix Site

Before connecting, make sure your Wix site has the Blog app installed:

  1. Log into your Wix account
  2. Open your site's editor
  3. Click Add Apps (or + icon) in the left sidebar
  4. Search for Blog
  5. If not already installed, click Add to Site
  6. Publish your site to make the blog live

Your blog page must be published and visible for the connection to work. A blog that's still in draft mode won't receive published posts.

Step 2: Connect in Your Dashboard

  1. In The Photographers' Blogger dashboard, go to Settings → Websites
  2. Click Connect New Site
  3. Select Wix from the platform list
  4. Enter your Wix site URL
  5. Click Connect

Step 3: Authorize the Connection

A Wix authorization window will open. You'll need to:

  1. Log into your Wix account if you aren't already
  2. Review the requested permissions
  3. Click Allow to authorize the connection
  4. Wait for the redirect back to your dashboard

Step 4: Verify the Connection

Check your connected sites list for a green Connected indicator next to your Wix site. We'll run an initial test to confirm we can publish posts.

Troubleshooting

"Blog not found" Make sure the Blog app is installed on your Wix site and the blog page is published. Check that your site URL is correct.

"Authorization error" Try using a private browser window or clearing your cache. Make sure you're logged into the correct Wix account — the one that owns the site.

"Posts not appearing" Check that your blog page is set to display published posts. In Wix's editor, go to Blog Settings and verify the display options.
