Connecting your website

Link your WordPress or ShowIt site so posts publish themselves — or have Squarespace content delivered to your inbox.

2 min read

The Photographers' Blogger publishes straight to WordPress and ShowIt websites. Squarespace works a little differently: each finished post arrives in your email, ready to paste. Either way, setup takes minutes.

Connect WordPress or ShowIt

  1. Open Connections in the sidebar.
  2. Click + Add Website.
  3. Choose your platform: WordPress or ShowIt.
  4. Enter your site URL.
  5. Click Connect.

For WordPress, you'll connect with an application password — a special password WordPress creates for tools it trusts. The button says Connect via Application Password, and TPB walks you through creating one in your own WordPress admin before you paste it in.

For ShowIt, a new browser tab opens asking you to approve access in your own site's login. ShowIt sites run on WordPress, so you'll use your ShowIt WordPress credentials.

Note

Wondering why ShowIt asks for WordPress credentials? Every ShowIt site runs on WordPress underneath — your ShowIt login to WordPress is the key that fits.

Keep the connection healthy

  • Click Test Connection any time to verify everything still works.
  • Disconnect removes the site — you'll see a confirmation first, so it can't happen by accident.

If a connection ever acts up, see Troubleshooting & FAQ — most connection problems are a two-minute fix.

Using Squarespace

Squarespace doesn't connect the same way — and it doesn't need to. When a post is published, you receive an email containing the full formatted post: title, body, meta description, and suggested URL slug, ready to paste into your Squarespace blog editor. Image positions are marked, so you know exactly where each photo goes.

How many sites can you connect?

Site limits depend on your plan: Solo and Growth allow 1 connected site; Studio allows up to 3. Need more than your plan allows? Extra site slots cost $19/mo each — see Plans, billing & your subscription.
