Connecting your website

Link your WordPress, Wix, or ShowIt site so posts publish themselves — or have Squarespace content delivered to your inbox.

The Photographers' Blogger publishes straight to WordPress, Wix, and ShowIt websites. Squarespace — and ShowIt with the Basic Starter Blog plan — work a little differently: each finished post arrives in your email, ready to paste. Either way, setup takes minutes.

Connect WordPress or ShowIt

  1. Open Connections in the sidebar.
  2. Click + Add Website.
  3. Choose your platform: WordPress, ShowIt, or Wix.
  4. Enter your site URL.
  5. Click Connect.

For WordPress, you'll connect with an application password — a special password WordPress creates for tools it trusts. The button says Connect via Application Password, and TPB walks you through creating one in your own WordPress admin before you paste it in. Want the step-by-step now? For ShowIt, connecting works exactly like WordPress — same flow, same application password. An approval window for your own site may open automatically; if it doesn't open, or the connection fails, use the manual application password method instead.

Warning

ShowIt sites need the "Showit & Advanced Blog" plan (an active Advanced Blog subscription) to publish directly. With the Basic Starter Blog plan, posts arrive by email, ready to paste — no connection needed.

Note

The credentials are always your WordPress username + application password, created in your site's admin at Users → Profile → Application Passwords — never your Showit dashboard login. Full walkthrough: Creating an application password.

Connect Wix

  1. Open Connections in the sidebar.
  2. Click + Add Website and select Wix.
  3. A new window redirects you to Wix — approve our app (called TPB) and it will be added to your Wix website.
  4. After Wix shows the success page, close that window.
  5. You'll see your Wix website connected — it's ready to create and publish blog posts!

Tip

No application password needed for Wix — approving the TPB app in the Wix window does the whole connection, and posts publish straight to your site.

Keep the connection healthy

  • Click Test Connection any time to verify everything still works.
  • Disconnect removes the site — you'll see a confirmation first, so it can't happen by accident.

Using Squarespace (or ShowIt's Basic Starter Blog plan)

Squarespace — and ShowIt sites on the Basic Starter Blog plan — don't connect the same way, and neither needs to. When a post is published, you receive an email containing the full formatted post: title, body, meta description, and suggested URL slug, ready to paste into your blog editor. Image positions are marked, so you know exactly where each photo goes.

How many sites can you connect?
