6 Signs That You Should Outsource Your Blogging

As a photographer, you are told all the time that you NEED to blog. It boosts your SEO, it makes your clients feel appreciated, it shows potential clients your most recent work and it gives you something to post on social media. I could go on and on. And all of these things are true, but the truth is, as business owners we have dozens of things to do every single day. And we can’t be amazing at everything. I’m a firm believe in doing what you love and outsourcing the rest, blogging included.

6 Signs That You Should Outsource Your Blogging!

  • YOU HATE WRITING

You and at least half of the photographer community. Blogging doesn’t require high level writing skills, but it does require you to be able to sit down and speak to your clients in a way that they can connect with. Some people end up sounding forced, robotic and insincere. If you’re one of those people, or you flat out just don’t like to write, you should consider outsourcing your blogging.

  • YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND SEO

One of the key benefits of blogging is that it increases your search engine rankings. SEO is one of those things that is incredibly intimidating, until you understand it, then it’s not so bad. But if you don’t understand it and have no intention of taking the time to learn how to, then outsourcing your blogging could really help your business by improving your SEO.

  • YOU DON’T HAVE ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY

When you don’t have enough time to see your family, grab wine with friends, or just take a thirty minute break to breath, the last thing you want to do is “maintain” your business. Blogging almost always take the back seat when you’re overwhelmed. But by not blogging, your client’s start wondering if you maybe you didn’t like their session, your search engine rankings drop and your potential clients wonder if you’re still booking. Instead of worrying about how to get it all done, outsource. Go enjoy that glass of wine knowing that someone else is out there writing that blog post for you. It’s a great feeling.

  • YOU GET WRITER’S BLOCK.

It’s not just a joke, it’s a real thing. You sit down and you are ready to go. All your photos are resized, you have your client’s questionnaire in front of you, and before you know it you’re productively procrastinating so hard you forgot what you were about to do in the first place. Stop scrubbing your floorboards with a tooth brush and just outsource it already.

  • YOU HAVE A BACKLOG OF BLOG POSTS READY TO GO

The truth is, once things start piling up, it’s even harder for us to dig into them. Maybe you want to blog, but you just haven’t gotten around to it. Now the list is growing and it’s starting to get intimidating. If you outsource your backlog, you can get a fresh start once you’re all caught up. If you don’t love it so much you decide to do it all the time.

  • YOU JUST DON’T WANT TO BLOG ANYMORE

Own it. We salute your honesty and think that it’s a perfectly acceptable reason to outsource your blogging. That’s how we feel about editing.
